My Kyokushin Karate Fighter Days

A self portrait of myself when I attained 2nd Dan black belt many years back.
Standing in a Sanchin stance below the Kuwait Towers in 2000. I was there to fight in the 1st Liberation International Kyokushin Karate Tournament. Karate begins and ends in Sanchin, as Sanchin embodies the spirit of Karate. The same can be said for all the Southern Shaolin Arts.
Fighting stance ready, with the sea of the Persian Gulf behind me.
My friends and fellow fighters from Philippines and Japan.
Other fighters from Europe and Australia.
Fighting in the Singapore Kyokushin Open Selection in 2003.
Tough young opponent from Pasir Ris.
Dishing out the low kicks.
Punishing with the middle kicks.
Struggling against the 100kg Chris (I was only 65kg at the time).
Being congratulated by the Gurkha CO.
